DEPARTMENT OF OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGY

Obstetrics and Gynaecology encompasses healthcare during pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and comprehensive healthcare of women and family welfare.

Our department aims to provide high quality one to one individual approach to patient care.

The department consists of highly qualified obstetricians involved in patient care along with teaching and training of undergraduates and postgraduates.

We provide advanced care in infertility, oncology and laparoscopy

Services-

• Daily OPD Services with regular antenatal, postnatal visits, along with minor OT, colposcopy
• Round the clock emergency service along with fully equipped labour room, septic labour room, eclampsia ward, HDU- High dependency unit, and ICU.
• Speciality clinics like High risk pregnancy clinic, Cancer detection clinic, Infertility clinic, Gynae Endocrine clinic, Family adaptation clinic, Menopause clinic.
• Regular cancer screening procedures like pap smear, colposcopic guided biopsy, endometrial biopsy are done
• A well maintained operation theater available for all gynaec and obstetrics procedures along with minimally invasive procedures like laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.

Academics-

• Teaching programme for both undergraduates and postgraduates are held on a regular basis based on the recent NMC guidelines and CBME curriculum.
• Undergraduate theory classes and bedside side clinics are taken to embark knowledge, ethics and skills to the students.
• Regular CMEs and intradepartmental discussions and guest lectures are held to update on recent advances and rare cases scenario.
• Case discussions, seminars and journal club are conducted for postgraduates and interns regularly

Health camps

• Remote area health camps are conducted to provide general health checks and screen the population
• Awareness camps for the ASHA workers, IT companies and in schools regarding menstrual hygiene and cancer awareness and screening.
• ANC camps to promote regular Antenatal checkups and educate them about importance of institutional delivery, breastfeeding and contraception planning.
