Physiotherapy is a Independent profession in which by using range of treatment techniques like Exercise therapy, Manual therapy and Electrotherapy to remediates impairments and promotes mobility and function within the body. Physiotherapy is used to improve a patient's quality of life through examination, diagnosis, prognosis, physical intervention, and patient education. In addition to clinical practice, other activities encompassed in the physiotherapy profession include research, education, consultation and administration. Physiotherapy services may be provided as primary care treatment or alongside, or in conjunction with other medical services.By the end of the course students will be concerned with identifying and maximizing quality of life and movement potential within the spheres of promotion, prevention, treatment/intervention, habilitation and rehabilitation. This encompasses physical, psychological, emotional, and social well being.
ADMISSION TO- BACHELORS IN PHYSIOTHERAPY (BPT)- 4 ½ years
Duration of Course:
The duration of Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is 4 ½ years including 6 months compulsory rotatory internship. The medium of instruction is English for all the subjects of study and for the examination of BPT course.
A Candidate seeking admission to first year Bachelor in Physiotherapy (BPT):
i) Should have passed two year Pre University examination with minimum 50% conducted by Department of Pre-University Education and subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects.
ii) Shall have passed any other examination conducted by Boards / Councils / Intermediate examination established by State Government / Central Government and recognized as equivalent to a two year Pre University Examination
A candidate seeking admission to Bachelor of Physiotherapy course should have completed 17 years of age, as on 31st December of the year of admission. Every candidate before admission to the course shall furnish to Principal of the Institution a certificate of Medical Fitness from an authorized Government Medical Officer to the effect, that the candidate is physically fit to undergo Physiotherapy course.
